Why Resizing Matters
Uploading the wrong size image causes several problems. Too large and the platform rejects the upload or the page loads slowly. Too small and the image appears blurry when displayed at larger sizes. Wrong aspect ratio and the platform crops your image in unexpected ways or adds white bars.

Understanding Aspect Ratio
Aspect ratio is the relationship between width and height. A 1920×1080 image has a 16:9 aspect ratio. A 1000×1000 image is 1:1 (square). Maintaining aspect ratio when resizing means if you change the width, the height adjusts proportionally — and vice versa. This prevents the stretched, distorted look that results from forcing an image into dimensions with a different aspect ratio.
